About Two Be Wed Jewelry

I started beading when I couldn't find a necklace for my own wedding. As I shopped all the bridal stores I noticed  the jewelry looked so cheap, made with base metal which I am allergic to. I wanted something dramatic but classy and truly unique. I decided to make my own. I went into a bead store in Chandler, AZ and was greeted by beautiful examples of jewelry you could make in a class. So I signed up (dragging along my best friend Karen, who designs a lot of the "Mother of the Bride"  jewelry on this site) and met our instructor
Lana May.  Four of my designs made it into the finals of the Fire Mountain Gems beading contest that year and she was so excited that one of her students had made it that far.
I owned a nail salon at the time I was working on my piece for my wedding, my clients would come in and ask if I could make them something for their weddings. It took off from there!
Karen and I want to make a point of telling our customers that we use the highest quality materials available in our bridal jewelry. They include Swarovski Crystals and Swarovski Pearls. Other, less expensive crystals aren't cut with the same precision as Swarovski  and can look lopsided and well, just cheap. Sometimes the facets don't match and there are chips in them.  Swarovski Crystals are definitely more expensive but this is your wedding and these pieces will be in your photographs forever, most likely close up. This is the time to choose quality.
People ask us about Swarovski Pearls. They are round crystals that have been pearl coated. We use them because of their consistency in size, weight, shape and color. Even from different dye lots you can't notice even the slightest color difference.
Delicas and Japanese seed beads are used that carry a consistent, uniform shape so our designs lay right.
Quality metals like sterling silver and gold filled are our standard because of metal allergies. The only exception are some bracelets and mother / grandmother of the bride jewelry's magnetic clasps. They can be 1/2 of the cost of the necklace if they are solid sterling. We use them because as we age clasps can get very frustrating! The clasps she uses are sterling plated and because they are magnetic, you just slide them apart! If you would like one of the mother/ grandmother of the bride necklaces done in a solid sterling lobster clasp just let us know!
All our pieces are strung on Fireline and knotted throughout.
The reason we are so particular in choosing our materials is because we feel it is important that a piece of jewelry worn on the most special day of your life should last a lifetime
or more! We hope that you hand down the jewelry to future brides and they become treasured family heirlooms.
